X Solar – Product Warranty Terms & Conditions
1. Overview
This Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) applies to all products purchased from X Solar by the original purchaser (“Customer”), provided they are installed and used in accordance with these terms.
2. Installation Requirement
To qualify for this Warranty:
All installations must be carried out by a qualified and registered electrician or an accredited solar installer who is legally authorised to perform such work in South Africa.
A valid Certificate of Compliance (COC) and, where applicable, an SSEG (Small-Scale Embedded Generation) approval certificate must be issued upon completion of the installation.
Proof of the installer’s credentials may be requested at any time during the warranty period.
Failure to meet these requirements will result in the immediate voiding of this Warranty.
3. Warranty Coverage
Covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal usage.
The coverage period is as per the manufacturer’s stated warranty for each product, starting from the date of purchase.
X Solar will, at its discretion, repair or replace defective items, or supply parts necessary to restore functionality.
4. Exclusions
This Warranty does not cover:
Damage caused by installation performed by non-qualified or unlicensed personnel.
Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, modification, or improper maintenance.
Damage caused by environmental factors such as flooding, lightning strikes, surges, pests, or acts of nature.
Wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or consumable parts (such as fuses, filters, etc.).
Any product not purchased directly from X Solar or an authorised reseller.
5. Claim Procedure
To lodge a warranty claim, you must provide:
Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt).
A completed Warranty Activation Form (https://xsolar.co.za/warranty-activation/).
Copy of the valid COC and/or SSEG approval (where applicable).
Clear photographs or video evidence showing the defect and the installed product.
Claims will be reviewed by X Solar’s technical team, and you will be informed of the outcome within 7–30 business days.
6. Limitation of Liability
X Solar’s liability is limited to the repair, replacement, or refund of the defective product as outlined above.
X Solar will not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of income, downtime, or additional installation costs.
7. Governing Law
This Warranty is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be handled in accordance with South African law.
